A very fine and unusual example of European Arts and Crafts metalwork. The copper body and cover of the vessel is beautifully patinated and planished, with a delicate repeating chased arcade around the body. The cast handles, in the form of crowned woodpeckers, and the finial are apparently of silvered brass. The glass liner is in perfect condition.
