Product Description

Luc Lanel (1893-1965) for Christofle
Patinated brass box with silver overlay and mahogany lining
France, c.1935
4.6 x 8.7 x 10.0 cms
Stamped Christofle with pattern no. B212E on the base flange

An excellent and attractive example of the Dinanderies brassware ranges which Lanel designed for Christofle when he was the company’s art director between 1922 and 1942.
The box has a solder repair to the back right seam, and there is some staining to the interior from previous contents. Patination has been lost on the base flange at the position of the mark.
