The India and Ceylon exhibition was an important showcase for traditional crafts from South Asia – one of a series of a major exhibitions of Indian culture held in Britain during the later decades of the 19th century. A photograph of the stand of the wood turners ‘Chamroo and Ramdass’ at the exhibition is in the India Office collection at the British Library.
